In any case, the confirmation and the control of the information quality will be a significant worry as it should adapt to the given assets and time. The adjustment of the populace is likewise viewed as fundamental as it decides the conveying limit of the planet and the overshoot of the biology declaring that the people had been over using the assets. To the extraordinary degree, the feasible utilization of the planet and the edified administration of the worldwide lodge and the eventual fate of the innovation all are in question (Cairns 2006) Most Significant moral issues identified with the Pollution of the worldwide lodge The rising issue in the current time is the contamination of the worldwide center. It might be because of the over a wide span of time exercises of the people having a typical danger to the government assistance of the general public. The creating na tions are contributing a little offer in the discharge in the relative air and the expense of accomplishing the objective is a lot higher than the created and modern nations. The supportable advancement of the worldwide hall prompts the improvement of the business in an economy. The positive effect of the worldwide house on the building up nations' organizations improves the coordination of the concurrence with the modern nations. Blog Archive MBA Career Advice Dig Deeper into Your Experiences

Blog Archive MBA Career Advice Dig Deeper into Your Experiences In this weekly series, our friends at MBA Career Coaches will be dispensing invaluable advice to help you actively manage your career. Topics include building your network, learning from mistakes and setbacks, perfecting your written communication, and mastering even the toughest interviews. For more information or to sign up for a free career consultation, visit  www.mbacareercoaches.com. Last week, we talked about the importance of vivid details in answering interview questions. Perhaps the example of last week’s Korean barbecue taco was an easy detail to conjure. But what about the subtler aspects of a team experience from six months ago? Or that project you finished three years ago? Those details might not be top of mind. What to do? One of the best things you can do to help yourself prepare for interviews is reminisce. We have said it before, but let’s look a little closer at what we mean. Take for example this bullet on your resume: Met unrealistic demands and deadlines, kept team morale high, and mastered client software quickly on tax compliance project; received a Firm Award for my work Hopefully you are beginning with similarly powerful and impactful bullets. Check out this post if you want to read more about awesome resume bullets. But let’s look at how you might examine this experience more closely. Just sticking to the text of the bullet What specifically was unrealistic about the demands? What would have been a more appropriate deadline, and why was this one such a challenge? In what specific ways was team morale challenged? Specifically how did you keep morale high, considering that your approach may have been different for each person? How did you manage to master the software faster than normal? When you realized you were confronting each challenge (expectations, deadlines, morale, software), how did you feel? Then how did you strategize and think about each challenge before taking action? What else was challenging about this particular project? What is the basis of selection for the firm award? What did people say in your review or as part of the award about your above-and-beyond contribution? What skills or strategies on your part enabled you to succeed in the face of so many challenges where others might have failed? Did you leverage any resources in a creative way to help you succeed in the process? Did any other people play a role in your success, either as helpers or mentors or even as obstacles? We could go on. But if you apply this same probing line of questioning to one of your own bullets, what you will find is that you actually need to think about them. The answers to all of them will likely not be top of mind, and the more you think and dig deeper, the more rich details will emerge. You will remember that one lunch with Sarah when she finally opened up to you about her struggles with the project and allowed you to coach her on some new skills. You will remember that night you stayed late in the office to learn the software instead of going out to dinner with friends. You will remember the incredible recommendation from your officemate to try mapping out all project resources on a white board and how that exercise gave you new insight into effective management. These are the details that will make your story come to life. Thinking through them now will give you the confidence to share your experiences powerfully and respond to any question the interviewer can throw at you, not to mention make a real connection with the person on the other side of the table. Decomposition of Sodium Bicarbonate - Balanced Equation

The decomposition reaction of sodium bicarbonate or baking soda is an important chemical reaction for baking because it helps baked goods rise. Its also how you can make sodium carbonate, another useful chemical, also called washing soda. The Balanced Equation The balanced equation for the decomposition of sodium bicarbonate into sodium carbonate, carbon dioxide, and water is: 2 NaHCO3(s) → Na2CO3(s) CO2(g) H2O(g) Like most chemical reactions, the rate of the reaction depends on temperature. When dry, baking soda doesnt decompose very quickly, although it does have a shelf life, so you should test it before using it as a cooking ingredient or in an experiment. One way to speed up the decomposition of the dry ingredient is by heating it in a warm oven. Baking soda starts to break into washing soda, carbon dioxide, and water at room temperature when mixed with water, which is why you shouldnt store baking soda in an open container or wait too long between mixing a recipe and putting it in the oven. As the temperature increases to the boiling point of water (100 Celcius), the reaction goes to completion, with the  decomposition of all the sodium bicarbonate. Sodium carbonate or washing soda also undergoes a decomposition reaction, although this molecule is more heat-stable than sodium bicarbonate. The balanced equation for the reaction is: Na2CO3(s) → Na2O(s) CO2(g) The decomposition of anhydrous sodium carbonate into sodium oxide and carbon dioxide occurs slowly at room temperature and proceeds to completion at  851 C (1124 K).

Specific Needs of Person With Disabilities †Lecture Reviews

Question1: Understand perceptions of health, disability illness and behavior 1.1 Analyse concepts of disability, illness and behaviour in relation to Health and social care service users. 1.2 Assess how perceptions of specific needs have changed over time. 1.3 Analyse the impact of legislation, social policy, society and culture on the ways that services are made available for individuals with Specific needs. Answer1: 1.1 Analyze concepts of disability, illness and behavior in relation to health and social care service users. People living with certain disability or illness needs care and support for the well-being purpose and health restoration. Understanding and perception regarding the responsibilities and duties in this regard are important because it required attributes of diverse demands in conjunction to health and social care. The scope of disability, illness and behavior contains any degree of physical harm, infirmity and malformation that is caused by birth, injury, accident or illness. To be more specific it included teratogenicity, gene defect such as color blindness, birth defect such as autism, specific disorders like epilepsy, Alzheimer, other complications such as paralysis, hearing and speech defect (Boardman, 2010). Other than this, it also includes the learning disability and language in-proficiency, mental disorder. It is well known that the disability itself brings in many complicacy and limitations, whereas the attitudes of people also creates many barriers. The scope of treatment an d support thus includes equal services, interaction, opportunity, facilities and membership in all regards. It is hence the responsibility of health and social care professional lies with respect to understanding the specific and diverse need, requirements, professional duties and communication skills, that are necessary to maintain the harmony and good state of mind cum health in the community. Arranging for special care services, assessment and identification of associated risk, clinical decision regarding specific intervention and treatment regime are crucial for meeting such challenging demands. The urgency of the responsibilities also lies in context to the public policies, institutional guidelines and ethical concern, which should be followed and made into practice during the course of regular routine health care practice (Harrison, Gill, 2010, pp.242). 1.2 Assess how perceptions of specific needs have changed over time With the time, the science and technology have emerged and presented several easy as well as suitable means for health restoration and health management. Not only from the technical direction, the improvement is also focused on increasing the competencies and skills for the health care professionals in conjunction to understanding the need as well as the responsibilities. The more clear example can be obtained with respect to the development of nursing theories and legislation for the care and specific requirements of disabled person. The objective of these efforts are concentrated towards the objective of obtaining positive output of the care services and meetings the community demands for the services (Edvardsson, 2011, pp.327). Consider the scenario of 1980s, the concept of palliative care, old age people support, machines for hearing and vision aid are not available at the footsteps. On the contrary, nowadays the social care and welfare groups are being appointed by the government agencies and referrals of specific professionals are being made by nurses and other health care professionals. To the end, these prospects helps in ensuring that sufficient measures and necessary requirements are arranged for this part of the community, with improved instrumentation, better second and third generation drugs, more robust approach of clinical judgment and decision making process, risk assessment criteria, record making and ease of sharing the clinical views (Gilmore, 2011). 1.3 Analyze the impact of legislation, social policy, society and culture on the ways that services are made available for individuals with Specific needs. Public policies, regulatory framework provided by the local, national and international settings, legislation are playing a part to ensure that necessity measures and attributes are taken in order to surplus the need and requirement of health care services for disabled and challenged people. Disability and Discrimination Act 1995 (Section 21 a, b, c), Rights of way use and demand study 2001, are some of the examples of the legislative framework that are build keeping in view of such needs. Likewise, the regulatory and ethical framework of the health care settings, are working in the direction of increased competencies for the health care professionals, including training and education, implementation and change process, sustainability of the implementation with the help of monitoring, record making and maintenance, evidence based research and use of wisdom are the contained within the scope (Harpur, Bales, 2010, pp.363). Consider the case of specific allergy, medication need, physical limitation, disability with respect to any specific disease or disorder, all of the cases have a requirement of specific and focused care. Thus, the knowledge of the particular ill characteristic is necessary for each health care professional. This on the other hand, will ensure that professional requirements have been marked upto the limit, as well as the health aspect of the community is also safeguard with precise care practices. Questuion2: Understand how health and social care services and systems support individuals with specific needs. 2.1 Analyse the care needs of individuals with specific needs. 2.2 Explain current systems for supporting individuals with specific needs. 2.3 Evaluate the services available in a chosen locality for individuals with specific needs. Furthermore, based on these interrogations, the situation and circumstances were necessary to be discussed and made explained to the social workers. Likewise, the lack of competencies of the health care professionals in this regard is also necessary for the wellbeing and appropriate care of Baby P. Lack of this coordination and sufficient care is the sole cause behind the deleterious health conditions. On the contrary, consider the other face of the situation, where a more precise and robust medical checkup and careful intervention of the results is being carried out by the local health care settings. in such scenario, the information regarding the abuse and serious offence might have conveyed to the local health worker, organization as well as the police officials. This would have created sophisticated and careful environment for Baby P (Hamby, 2010, pp.734). Eventually, this would have leads to better condition and circumstances, where abuse against Baby P might have reduced, any abnormality in the psychological condition, emotional state of his mother as well as his in Barker can be checked and rectified with the help of local psychological councilor. It is also possible in such a scenario, the food habits and other hygienic requirements of Baby P is not being maintained in precise manner. Such matters could also be rectified and made in proper manner with the realization of app ropriate professional responsibilities (Bugental, 2010). 2.3. Evaluate the services available in a chosen locality for individuals with specific needs With respect to the present case study, the prime service is provided by the community person. As for instance, it was found that the marks and sign of injury and hurt are being identified by community member, and was informed to the authority. This helps in taking necessary care or legislative frameworks that can be applied to the scenario. To the next, the service was provided by the local police and similar authorities, which helps in either arresting of the Baby Ps mother and Barker, and placement of Baby P in a separate environment for growth and care. Later on, it was also identified that the condition and situation was identified and necessary arrangement for the convicted case was arranged by the police officials. The mentioned two services are crucial as because apart from the health and social care, these support and interaction are necessary for the survival in the society (Hamby, 2010, pp.734). Regarding the specific need and care related to health, the services are presented by the local health care settings. These health care settings helps in identifying the ill health conditions. The professionals involved in providing these services include, general physician, nurses, midwifes and pediatric specialist. It is noteworthy to mention that lack of the specific professional duties and competencies of the health care professionals in this case leads no improvement in the health and social aspects. Similar to the health care settings, the requisite care support was also provided by the childcare organization, which raises serious concern regarding the change of the environment necessary for Baby P. Similar to the lack of competencies and understanding of the professional role of health care settings, the same reason is existing in childcare organization as well. Lastly, the paramedical services (ambulatory) service was also discussed in the case (Cohen Reporting, 2010). Question3: Understand approaches and intervention strategies that support individuals with specific needs Explain the approaches and interventions available to support individuals with specific needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies for an individual with specific need(s). Discuss the potential impact of emerging developments on support for individuals with specific needs. Answer3: 3.1. Explain the approaches and interventions available to support individuals with specific needs The intervention and approach in concern to the specific needs of disabled, ill health condition and ill behavior person are very important. Notably, it is more important for the health care professionals and requisite personals to understand the competencies and professional attributes. This will not only ensure that specific and requisite care is being provided, but the wellbeing of the needy can also be addressed. Consider a case, where severe physical damage have occurred, it is necessary for the concerned health care professionals to identify the plan, the implementation and the evaluation of the necessary regime (Chan, 2010). For the ill health conditioned person, it is necessary to assess and identify the specific health issues and provide suitable treatment option and medical intervention. Similarly, for mentally challenged person, it is more important to understand their need and perception, so as to give favorable condition which is suitable, safe and pleasant. These approa ch are essential as because to boost the morale of the concerned individual, provides them satisfaction and necessary health related support. To the other part, it is also important to take care of the communication skills. This include both the verbal as well as the non-verbal communication. These communication skills are important to understand and identify the specific need of the concerned person. Importantly, the same is also essential to discuss and share the information of the concerned issue among the health care professionals (Goodwin, 2012). For the part of government agencies and legislative agencies involved in making the framework and necessary guidelines, it is important to make flexible and suitable frameworks for the benefit of the needy and safety of the disabled persons. 3.2. Evaluate the effectiveness of intervention strategies for an individual with specific need(s) Similar to the discussed parameters, it is more important to frame a strategy of intervention and care. The said concern is important as because it will help in devising effective and efficacious plans, necessary implementation and changes that are crucial of the care. on the other hand, the same is operative for the monitoring of the plans and make the whole scenario worthy for the benefit of the concerned person. Apart from the given case scenarios, the specific need for the disabled person also lies in content to safety and assistive technology terms. Safety in this regard is important as it is focused with the effectiveness in measures for health restoration and health management. The concept of risk assessment and identification is par suitable in this paradigm, which ensures necessary care and intervention regime is available for the patients and needful person of the community (Rosenberg, 2011). Consider another circumstance where independent living is concerned, especially for the old age people. It is necessary to take care of the hygiene, cleanliness aspects, the medication and diet precaution, the consciousness and careful approach in educating them regarding the instrument in use and concern cautions. It is hence the role of supporting personals is not only concerned for the responsibilities related to medication and care, but is also considered to take care of the emotional need, p sychological attributes and related diverse circumstances. Participation and collaboration among the various professionals in this regard is also crucial. This will ensure that the information regarding special care and need is conveyed to appropriate referrals and necessary measures are being confirmed (Thoits, 2011, pp.145). 3.3. Discuss the potential impact of emerging developments on support for individuals with specific needs Impact with respect to the support for the individuals with specific need is referred to the necessary care, treatment approach, strategy for the care and intervention plans and requisite services. It is obvious that the objective behind all such scenarios are concerned with the beneficial aspect of community health and wellbeing. To the other part, it is also concerned with the equality of individual members of the community, which helps in opportunities for assess to all in conjunction to health related care and services (Andersen, 2011). The prime impact is the reduction and removal of the discrimination and negotiation of the disables, challenged and ill people in the community. These aspects of the society are being taken care by the legislative frameworks and the concerned local, national and international policies. Other than the ethical and legislative framework, the same work is also supplemented with the help of various health and social care agencies. Some of the example of these are special care center, childcare, mental health organization, telenursing, psychological counseling center. Not to forget, the improvement in education and training system also plays crucial role in this regard. The credit of increase in the competencies of the health care professionals goes to the development of the support paradigm for the individual of specific need. The requirement of specific and diverse care, tends to the development of specific nursing theories, which leads to increase in the awareness, knowledge and evidences to support the corresponding care requirements among the professionals. It is hence, it was possible to make substantial effort for the wellbeing and effective management of health needs in the community (USDHHS, 2010). Question4: Understand strategies for coping with challenging behaviours associated with specific needs. Explain different concepts of challenging behaviour. Describe the potential impact of challenging behaviour on health and social care organizations. Analyse strategies for working with challenging behaviours. Answer4: 4.1. Explain different concepts of challenging behavior Challenging behavior demands for specific and understanding type of intervention. This in other words, can be said that precise and accurate measurement is needed to meet the diverse demands for any particular health concern. For the part of health and social care professionals, it is important to understand the emotional, psychological, physiological and other societal needs. The understand of this kind among the professionals can only leads to identification and implementation of appropriate measure. Concisely it will also help in making the paradigm more effective and supportive for the development of the concerned person (Barnes-Holmes Barnes-Holmes, 2011, pp.4). The challenging behavior often needs identification and assessment of concerned risk. These risks can be related to diet, medication, care and communication, depending upon the situation and concerned health scenario. These concerns are related to learning disabilities, dyslexia, amnesia, psychosis, autism and other physical injuries related to brain parts. It should be noted that in many a circumstances and cases the term challenging behavior is misinterprets as violence, aggression and irritability. Whereas to be more accurate, both of the issues are concerned with the challenging behavior, in case if the concern is consistent for longer period and is resulting in serious hazardous effect on life and mental state (Chandler Dahlquist, 2014). It is hence the concept is concerned with biological, social, environmental and psychological state of individuals. 4.2. Describe the potential impact of challenging behavior on health and social care organizations The impact of these challenges is related to the objective and concern of such organization, which is related to individual wellbeing and societal progress. To be more particular the present aspect of discussion can be oriented with respect to the care and services that are necessary to meet the care and service demands in conjunction to challenging behavior. For any concerned personal or health and social professionals, it is more important to have effective communication skills, strategies to handle and rectify the situation. common framework for related issues can be termed as behavioral strategies, which includes applied behavior analysis, operant conditioning and positive behavior support to the concerned person. Prior to the intervention and management strategy, it is important to build trustworthy relationship with the individual of specific need as well as their family members, friend or carer. Such relationship and partnership model will not only help in educating and managi ng the necessary strategy, but will also help in self-care, self-management for any specific and diverse need. Other than this, as discussed in earlier section, the impact is also concerned with increase in competencies and learning for the professionals. The results of increased competencies and ideology related to the care is reflected with respect to positive patient outcome and corresponding wellbeing (Brownson, 2010). 4.3. Analyze strategies for working with challenging behaviors Some of the key attributes to be incorporated in the strategies are related to educating, diet plan, and medication management, facilitation of suitable environment, caring for the emotion and psychological states, and consideration of any ethical concern. It is important to mention that challenging behavior is often accompanied with diverse situation and scenario. The emotional and psychological state is often unpredictable and unreliable for the professionals also, and hence there is equal demand of optimum care and management. The strategies to meet the challenging behavior include certain key questions such as what are the challenging behavior, reason behind the challenging behavior, managing strategies of behavior. Apart from this, the scope also includes the linking between disability and behavioral attributes. In simple term any strategy in this regard should follow a cycle of (i) concerned problem, (ii) plan for the same, (iii) implementation and change needed and (iv) monitoring and evaluation. A support strategy based on the positive aspects of the individual have the maximum changes of achieving the positive results. On the contrary, it is also essential to think for the alternative plans and measures. These are important for the condition where changes and necessary implementation furthermore for the care is not suitable for the concerned individuals. last but not the least, it is more important that the care plan should have a timeframe and time limit associated with it, which will make the proce ss effective (Chandler Dahlquist, 2014). Smoking is really just hurting you and the people around you. Stress is something that is going to be around your whole life so it is better to find other way to cope without smoking. Second hand smoke affects the people around you. A smoker does effect close coworkers and family members. Most of the smoke from a burning cigarette isn’t sucked down into the lungs of a smoker, but let out into the open air to be inhaled by anyone. Second hand smoke can cause heart disease, lung cancer, and the risk of SIDs which is something that can instantly kill infants. When it comes to babies and children there are many other complications that can affect them. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says 4that each year in the United States secondhand smoke causes an estimated 46,000 premature deaths from heart disease and an estimated 3,400 deaths each year from lung cancer in nonsmokers. Secondhand smoke contains more than 250 chemicals known to be toxic or cancer causing5. Children or babies exposed to this secondhand smoke are inhaling many of the same cancer causing substances as smokers are. Since 1964, 34 separate US Surgeon General’s reports have been written to make the public aware of the health issues linked to tobacco and secondhand smoke. The ongoing research used in these reports still supports the fact that tobacco and second hand smoke are linked to serious health problems that could be prevented6. According to the CDC SIDS is the sudden, unexplained, unexpected death of an infant in the first year of life, it is the leading cause of death in otherwise healthy infants. 7Chemicals in secondhand smoke appear to affect the brain in ways that interfere with its regulation of infants’ breathing. On average, Children are exposed to more secondhand smoke than nonsmoking adults. Cigarettes cause health risks that affect you in a negative way. Cigarettes contain arsenic, formaldehyde, lead, hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, and 43 known carcinogens. They contain more than 4,000 ingredients which when burned, also produce compound chemicals8. Cigarettes can cause cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung disease, emphysema, bronchitis, chronic airway obstructions, and many other health related diseases. Cigarette smoking may also lead to changes in the smokers’ appearance over longer periods of time like wrinkling skin and yellowing of the teeth. In the United States, smoking is responsible for about one in five deaths annually which is about 443,00 deaths a year9. On average, smokers die 13 to14 years early then nonsmokers. In a specific case involving Shane, a 44 year old man who started smoking when he was 18 and was only 34 when his body became damaged from smoking. He discovered he had throat cancer, and had to get his larynx removed, part of his esophagus and collarbone. Part of his stomach had to be reshaped and stretched to serve as an esophagus. Now he speaks with an electro larynx and has a 1inch stoma in his neck so he can breathe. Even after being smoke free since 2003 his smoking still affects him, he just recently found out that he now has cancer in his chest10. Smoking increases your odds of life ending shorter because of avoidable health diseases that you could have easily prevented from not smoking. The amount of money people spend on cigarettes is a ridiculous amount, which could be spent on something more important. In the long run it hurts people when you invest in cigarettes and not in other things like bank accounts or safe stocks. The cigarette industry spends billions of dollars investing and promoting. According to the CDC cigarette smoking costs more than $193 billion a year, which is $97 billion in lost productivity plus $96 billion in health care expenditures11. Cigarettes aren’t cheap and quitting or never starting can save you money now and can also keep you from spending money on health problems in the future. For example if cigarettes are an average $5. 50 for the cost of a pack of cigarettes and a smoker smokes a pack every day, in a month you would be spending $165 on cigarettes, when you could really save that much every month. If you saved this much every month, in five years you could have $9,900, $19,800 in ten years, and $39,600 in twenty years. Before you start just smoking think of the weekly spending you would be doing on just a pack of cigarettes when you could be doing something more important with your money. Smoking is a horrible choice and risk that affects you and the people around you in a negative way. There are many effects of smoking cigarettes, for example second hand smoke and the affect it has on people who are nonsmokers, they cause health risks that can cause death, and also it causes people to spend unnecessary amounts of money. Cigarettes are temporary thing that makes you feel good for a while, but overall the long term affects are dangerous to your life.

Laws Pertaining to Early Childhood Intervention Programs for Children Research Paper

Laws Pertaining to Early Childhood Intervention Programs for Children with Disabilities - Research Paper Example For a teacher, it will be important to understand the problems of such children in the classroom, in order to plan their lessons accordingly. Children with special needs require special support with their learning styles. A multisensory approach is the best which supports the child in all the three ways: auditory, visual and kinesthetic. ICT offers many solutions for children with disabilities. Teachers must understand that children with special needs need extra time and effort in understanding the lesson, and hence they should be treated quite differently in lesson, but not in a way that makes them stand out. Hence, teachers must implement such learning strategies that help dyslexic children retain information in their memory for longer time, while helping them maintain their self-esteem at the same time. There are many laws that address the needs of special children. This paper discusses some laws pertaining to special education, and how these laws will be helpful for a classroom h aving children with special needs. ... All persons- children or adults- who have in their medical history that they have been or are going through such a disability, or people perceive him as disabled, are accommodated by this Act. According to the Department Chair Online Resource Center (2003, para.1), â€Å"The American with Disabilities Act (ADA) is intended to provide qualified students who have disabilities with equal access to all services available to the general student population.† In other words, children with special needs must be provided the same opportunities that are being provided to other normal children. According to the article, ADA is a civil-rights related statute, and must not be considered as an affirmative action. The department further illustrates that the disability can be mental or physical, and the disabled students must be provided security and benefits, so that their learning may be enhanced. This law can mean a lot to special needs classroom setting, as teachers should strive for prom oting equal learning opportunities to children with special needs. Rehabilitation Act (1973) According to the U.S. Department of Education (1998), section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (1973) aims at protecting students with special needs from discrimination. This Act applies to all those school districts that accept federal money from the state, and thus, they must provide free and appropriate special education to children with special needs. An interesting thing is that section 504 of this Act provides appropriate services to those students who are not eligible for these services according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The Rehabilitation Act provides legal protection and rights to children with

Sports and Entertainment Law Term Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Sports and Entertainment Law - Term Paper Example In the sports and entertainment industry there are numerous personalities who have gained international fame and therefore, any news on them is likely to receive wide viewership all across the world. Besides, the traditional journalists, the news or stories about famous personalities in the sports and entertainment industry is able to reach the mainstream media through paparazzi whom according to O’Shaughnessy, are photographers who take pictures of famous without their approval as they conduct themselves in their normal life (36). The approach with which paparazzi conduct their work has been the subject of many debates in regards to invasion of privacy by the paparazzi and the fact there is freedom of speech and right to free press that protects paparazzi. This present term paper intends to explore the issue of invasion of privacy by the paparazzi and in particular, it will discuss this issue in relation to Tiger Woods’ experience with paparazzi. ... highly unregulated and therefore, they would do anything to get a picture that will sell highly in the market including invading the privacy of individuals. Nordhaus stated that the term ‘paparazzi’ was coined from the surname of a photographer in a 1959 film produced by Federico Fellini called La Dolce Vita. However, there are various connotations that are linked with the term include persistent and annoying photographers who the nature of their work requires them to stalk famous people and go to any extent as long as they get a perfect picture (284). Nordhaus further added that paparazzi mainly target individuals who fascinate the public and the driving force for the paparazzi is the public obsession about these particular individuals, which encourages them to do their invasive acts (284). The paparazzi have received wide criticism more so in situation whereby their invasive acts cause harm or threat of harm as they go about taking photos and videos of celebrities. In such situations, paparazzi are regarded as nuisance and this has led to some countries more so in Europe to restrict the activities of paparazzi by enacting policies and curfews that restrict the invasion by the paparazzi. Nordhaus in his writings stated that the paparazzi have been accused of striping celebrities off their right to privacy. Moreover, the paparazzi were widely criticized after the death of Princess Diana since her death was partly caused by paparazzi that were chasing her; thereby contributing to a car accident that caused her death. Additionally, there have been numerous case filed against paparazzi and among the first such cases was in 1972 whereby Jacqueline Kennedy who was a First Lady of the United States sued paparazzi Ron Galella for harassment with his photo taking

Dynamics Of Globalization Essay Example for Free

Dynamics Of Globalization Essay Two themes emerge from Robert D. Kaplan’s â€Å"The Coming Anarchy. † The first is civilization and de-civilization against all odds. The second is Africa, an example of the group countries that are left behind by civilization. These two themes will be discussed in this essay. The movie â€Å"Girl in the Cafe† is a perfect illustration of what is happening in Africa. The movie took place at a time where most countries have attained a high level of civilization. They have technologies, cultural developments and modern values and concerns. It took place at a time where globalization is at a high level that countries’ leaders meet together to decide the fate of the world. Amidst all their issues stood one issue that not all countries find to be a priority—the condition in Africa and the fate of its people amidst the poverty and difficulties being experienced in the country. It is sad to say that when globalization began to take place, not all countries were able to follow. In fact, even at present, some countries are too attuned to being globalized, but most countries are still struggling with the concept and imagining themselves being globalized and enjoying the benefits that are claimed to come together with globalization. Some countries remain behind their countries’ boundaries by choice, but many remains behind by sheer inability to cope with world developments. Unfortunately, the so-called gap between the rich and poor manifests not only among individuals, but also among countries. Unfortunately, these poor countries are the ones always plagued with issues and hindrances that make it more difficult for them to globalize. Unfortunately, these poor countries are always left behind. It may be asked, â€Å"how did globalization come about? † Globalization may be a need as many people say. In my opinion, globalization is a product of civilization. The world began kept with boundaries. People in the past have limited view of the word. There is an international anarchy, not in the sense that there is chaos and disorder, but in the sense that there is no central government that governs the whole world. Governments are small and order is limited to very small communities. However, people began to explore and discover. They form larger governments and organize into states. Globalization is just a continuation of this—a manifestation of a search for a more advanced civilization. In fact, there were several claims in the past about the creation of an international government. Even at present, an international legal order is manifest, although loosely due to several conceptual and political hindrances such as sovereignty of states. However, it cannot be denied that countries are now forming unions and organizations and building international institutions such as courts and tribunals to govern conduct. The inquiry is therefore clear. â€Å"Will the world organize into a bigger union? † The irony in this question is that many countries such as Africa has not yet achieved the high level of civilization that many other countries have achieved. By not being highly civilized, I do not mean to say that they are savage, but only that they are left behind in terms in terms of political, economic and technological developments. Theirs are mostly a case of lawlessness and crime. Chaos and disorder prevails dues to poverty, disease and inadequate natural resources that are existing in the country. It is like being back during the period before the existence of social contracts where every man is a man for himself. The main concern is individual survival, not the advancement of civilization. These countries who were left behind have not made themselves as civilized and globalized as others countries have made themselves. How can they cope with the new world order that will be established in case civilization and globalization become more advanced? Going back to the question, the articles answer seems to be no. The pattern that may be observed is not integration, but disintegration. Countries are beginning to disaffiliate from their respective unions and affiliations. The reasons are simple, resources are scarce and countries have to fight over these resources to survive. It is â€Å"Africa† in a larger scale. The thing that prevents countries like Africa from assimilating to a grand globalization scheme will prevent many countries from becoming more politically and socially advanced. Worse, it may cause their social and political system to deteriorate, bringing them back to a path where they have already trodden before. That path is a path towards pre-civilization. Anarchy may return. An era of lawlessness and crime may again plague the world. The world may revert to the period before civilization when there is no social contract. The world may go back to a period where it is every man for himself or every country for itself. The pillars of cooperation, which countries have so painstakingly erected may easily collapse in the middle of poverty, need and competition for scarce resources. This prediction may be exaggerated, but it may happen; and what better way exists to show what may happen, but through an exaggeration. It is again a point of interest at this point the situation in countries like Africa. While Africa and other countries are still struggling to achieve the level of civilization and globalization that exist in the world, other countries are already going through the process of de-globalization and de-civilization. Even in de-globalization and de-civilization, they seem to be unable to keep up. Or is it that other countries are the ones keeping up with them in terms of de-globalization and de-civilization? It is in times like this that one may realize why government and laws are important. There may be wrongs committed in the government and it may limit or even abuse individual rights. However, governments create order. In times of difficulties, governments take charge. Governments are necessary in the development of a healthy and orderly social and political system. Law controls people. It may cause evils, but it also controls evils. Law is essential in governance and civilization.

When I'm in a car riding down the street there is only one radio station that I really enjoy, KXHT 107.1. The music they play is quite specific. They are a hip-hop and R&B station that plays mostly southeastern groups. Hip-hop is quite new to me having really only gotten into it in the early years of high school were as I liked rock since childhood. It was for this reason and a few others that I decided to interview a personality from Hot 107 as they are nicknamed. Memphis is the first city that I have been to that has a station such as Hot 107 that plays only rap and R&B. Most other places will only have songs that are mainstream and then they are only played on the dance music stations. The other main reason I chose KXHT was its involvement on the campus at the University of Memphis. For my assignment I chose to interview one of the daytime radio personalities named Playboy. Playboy is actually a 25-year-old gentleman by the name of Tre Munson. For his current job, radio personality and promotion assistant, he goes on the road and DJ's for special events both live and not. Most recently he and another disc jockey, Kid Fresh, hosted a step show in front of the UC at the University. He has done parties, concerts, charity events, and many other functions. About two weeks ago he also covered the after party for Method Man and Red Man, two nationally known rap music artists.Though he has only worked at the station for a few years he has already started on his way up the corporate later. When he originally came to the station he did so by the means of simply filling out a job application. He did not meet with success at his first couple of attempts. He actually had to go in and fill out quite a few and after that had to keep calling and pestering them until the finally offered him a job. Not the job he wanted, however, he was first just a support member for a street team. He felt that it was still a good way to get his foot in the door and he would be able to show the station he could do more for them elsewhere. After a few months of street team he was finally selected to become a personality.

My Dream Dinner Party Essay

If you could host a dinner party and invite any four people either living or dead, whom would you invite and what would the five of you discuss together? If I am to invite any four people for a dinner party, it would be my pleasure to have the following present: First of all, I would be happy to dine with the chairman and chief architect of the world wide leader in software services and solutions, Microsoft Corporation. The guy considered to be the richest man on earth, no other than William “Bill” Gates. Another visitor whom I would like to join us would be one of the top businessmen in South Africa, the Chairman of Harmony Gold Mining Company Ltd., Mr. Patrice Motsepe. My third guest passed away last June 25, 1997. He was known for his invention of the underwater camera and underwater TV processes as well as numerous undersea expeditions and TV specials made useful up to the present. I would be glad if he could join us from the world of the unknown Ââ€" Mr. Jacques-Yves Co usteau. And finally my last but definitely not the least visitor would be the 43rd President of the United States, Mr. George Walker Bush. Our discussion would center on modern inventions for the global market and its impacts on the business world. We would specifically deal on Bill GatesÂ’ vision for 2005 Ââ€" the digital lifestyle. First of all, our top businessman Mr. Motsepe will discuss to us the current trend of the world market and the pressing technological needs faced by the business world. We would like to know what sort of difficulties if there are any, are faced by the mining industry, and how technology can play a part in solving these issues. In addition, President Bush will also share to us the present problems faced by his administration and the implications of these in the business community. We also would like the president to tell us his thoughts on the role of technology in decreasing these problems and gearing forward to its solutions. Moreover, we would like to hear suggestions from Mr. Gates on how technology can play a vital role in addressing the problems faced in this era and possible innovations that will be created to improve the quality of business and governance. It is imperative that he would work hand in hand with our representatives from business and from the government to create technological solutions to our issues. Furthermore, I would like Gates to share to us the different innovations from Microsoft that we would expect to  emerge in the year 2005 and the usefulness of these innovations in peopleÂ’s lives particularly in the corporate setting. Here, Mr. Jacques-Yves Cousteau would be helpful to tell us all about his underwater television and how this can be improved by GatesÂ’ digital means. We also would like him to share to us some ideas that could lead to further inventions and technologies that can be used underwater. Finally, the presidentÂ’s presence is very important since we would need his support not only for the spread of the new technological innovations but also for its use in the business world. It would be very fantastic if the government will also benefit from the modern innovations and processes used in the business community.

Crystal Paper Snowflake Ornaments

Make your own crystal snowflake ornaments by crystallizing borax onto homemade paper snowflakes. These sparkling snowflakes can be made in any size to suit your decorating needs. Materials for Crystal Snowflake Ornaments round paper coffee filtersboraxwaterscissorsfood coloring (optional) Make Crystal Snowflake Ornaments Cut a paper snowflake (or another shape) from the coffee filter.Prepare crystal solution by stirring borax into boiling water until no more will dissolve. Youll know the solution is ready if borax powder starts to accumulate on the bottom of your container.Add a drop of food coloring, if you want colored snowflake ornaments.Place the paper snowflake onto a plate or saucer. Pour the crystal solution over the snowflake, making sure it is completely covered.Allow crystals to grow on the snowflake until you are satisfied with their size. Small crystals take about an hour to form. You can allow the crystals to grow overnight if you want larger crystals.Pour off the crystal solution and carefully dislodge the crystal snowflake from the plate. This is best done with a fingernail or butter knife. You can remove any crystals that are stuck in the holes of the snowflake. Allow the crystal snowflake to fully dry before removing it and hanging it. Other Types of Crystal Snowflakes If you dont have borax, you can still do the project. You can substitute other salts, such as table salt, sea salt, or Epsom salts. Simply stir the salt into the hot water until no more will dissolve. Another option is to use sugar. Sugar crystals work the same way, but you dont need very much water to dissolve a lot of sugar. Start with a small amount of boiling water (perhaps a half cup) and stir in sugar until it stops dissolving. Another option is to boil water on a stove and add sugar. Let the sugar water cool a bit and pour it over a paper snowflake. Sugar solution gets very thick as it cools, so its best to use it while its still warm.
